Finally, I had the time to put together our travel guide to Italy. More specific: Cinque Terre & Liguria. I’ve added lots of SS2020 Pictures so get excited for what’s to come next year. 🙂
The reason we choose Italy for our upcoming SS2020 collection shooting is simple: We wanted to have a place that is close so that we don’t need to fly. Luckily this gem is only 4 hours from Switzerland and the production site is on the way. So I was able to visit the production on the way down and on the way up again. It was perfect. And let me tell you: this region of Italy is pure heaven! But see for yourself.
First stop was Manarola (and my personal favourite). You can drive there by car but if it’s possible for you, I would suggest you go by train because this region is very well connected.
Manarola is the second city of cinque terre, right after Riomaggiore if you come from La Spezia. It is beautiful! We stayed in a big apartment in the middle of Manarola with a nice rooftop and did a morning shoot there. It was pure magic!
Monterosso al Mare
Next stop was Monterosso al Mare. We stayed in Levanto which is a small surfing town and then we took the train to Monterosso which only took us 4 minutes and 5 Euro. The train stops right at the beach where the famous Monterosso rock is. The water was freezing but it was super nice! For dinner, I suggest you walk through the tunnel to the town center which has a bunch of cute little restaurants!
After two days in Cinque Terre we went to the other side of Genoa to Varigotti and Noli. I have been here twice and fell in love with this little, very Italian town. It is very colourful like Cinque Terre but has not as many tourists and more Italian people wearing tiny bikinis (which I absolutely loved!!). Fist shoot was in Noli which is right next to Varigotti and has a hidden old town where we’ve taken our FALL ACTIVEWEAR (spoiler!) photos. PS: It has so many apero opportunities and Jenn and I might have tested them all.. 🙂
Next Stop was Varigotti where we stayed the whole time and then Pietra Ligure. Both super cute and perfect for drinks or dinner. Varigotti is directly at the beach while Pietra Ligure is similar to Noli.
Last stop of our trip was Pietra Ligure. We had super awesome gelati here and there are so many cute restaurants in every little street so that you can eat until your belly is full full full. It is only 10 minutes from Varigotti so all of these places are easily reachable by train, bicycle or car. Also, we shot our last pieces of the FALL COLLECTION here:
Some facts about our trip:
We stayed for 5 days and it was enough time to see all the cute places. However you can easily plan 1-2-weeks here and there are also plenty of camping places around so you can bring your tent. Otherwise it has cute little hotels everywhere.
I would not go in July/August but rather before or after because it is very touristy (especially Cinque Terre).
